Description:
This 6 hour course is designed for the employer and upper management who need to be familiar with their specific responsibilities to their employees in regards to trenching and excavation safety under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. This course will assist you in developing a thorough understanding of workers’ rights under OSHA, root causes of hazards and remedies, OSHA’s standard for excavations; 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P and Appendices, the roles and responsibilities of the competent person, designating a competent person, and maintaining a safety program. The course will include a combination of instructor led presentations and interactive components and will not certify workers as competent persons. This course will be delivered online via Zoom. Participants will be emailed a link to participate before the class begins. Participants must attend the entire online module and complete an end-of-course survey in order to receive an electronic certificate of completion.
